Overview
The ZigBee module serves as a Smart Energy metering device.
The ZigBee module is based on a DevCom 04HP module with a microcontroller and a low power radio from Freescale’s Flexis series. Furthermore, a data flash for firmware update over the air and data storage is also included.
Communication between the electricity meter and the ZigBee unit is implemented by serial interface. The ZigBee module is mounted under the standard meter cover and is compatible with both single and poly
phase meters.
In addition to the standard ZigBee metering functionality, the device supports the complete KMP protocol via ZigBee tunnel cluster, hence providing expanded meter functionality
