CELSIUS project opens new opportunities for measuring building energy performance

Develco Products joins the global battle against climate change by participating in CELSIUS, a research project focusing on how technology can help make building management more sustainable. More specifically, it aims to develop an IoT-enabled and cloud-based platform for monitoring and diagnostics of building energy performance and indoor climate.

Integration with Microsoft Azure cloud services

As part of the CELSIUS project, Develco Products received the opportunity to integrate the Squid.link gateway with Microsoft Azure, one of the world’s leading cloud service providers. By doing this, all of the collected data from the wireless sensors are directly and securely transferred from the gateway onto a cloud.

One of the benefits of having all of the information stored in the same digital space is that it can be used for integrated analytics. For example, the data can be compiled in dashboards that illustrate the current energy state of the building. It is a comprehensive way of visualizing the insights and measuring how specific adjustments affect the building’s energy efficiency and indoor air quality.

Gaining real-time feedback

Participating in the CELSIUS project allows Develco Products to carry out real-life testing of the building management solution on large-scale pilot sites in Denmark and Malaysia. It provides an opportunity to gain feedback and a realistic evaluation of the easiness of deployment of such large-scale platforms.

Solution providers can draw on our experience with fleet management solutions that are specifically tailored for large- and medium-sized buildings to deliver a cost-effective, low-maintenance energy efficiency system to their customers.
