Develco Products participates in new Horizon 2020 smart energy project
Abbreviated from Holistic dEmand response Services for European residenTIAl communities, HESTIA emphasizes the holistic approach to encouraging residential consumers to engage in energy flexibility sharing and grid balancing through user-personalized services.
The overall aim of HESTIA is to develop the technical and business ecosystem to convincingly demonstrate the potential of innovative demand response services for residential communities to save energy, reduce CO2 emissions, and bring economic benefits across the value chain.
Providing a cost-effective solution for the next-generation Demand Response services
Develco Products plays a key role in integrating home and building automation by supplying the project with a myriad of monitoring devices such as the Motion Sensor, Smart Humidity Sensor, and Entry Sensor. They will collect data about the energy and comfort levels in households and buildings, which will be used for adjusting the control strategy and the HESTIA system.
Furthermore, other devices from Develco Products’ commercially available white label portfolio, for instance the Smart Plug Mini and External Meter Interface, will enable electrical appliances and meters to report data to HESTIA. On top of that, Develco Products will be responsible for connecting the devices through the Squid.link 2X, which supports multiple wireless technologies and protocols, as well as edge computing.

Leading the future of energy management
By participating in this project, Develco Products will collaborate with leading research institutions and industrial partners. The project’s insights will strengthen our market insights and provide feedback, which will be used to further refine the white label technology we produce. The outcomes of the project will be suitable for broad rollout. Solution providers can use this holistic approach to educate their consumers on better energy management, thus optimizing their own processes and reducing their costs while promoting a more sustainable image.
