Let your solution talk to your customer with the voice prompt of the Smart Siren
IoT solutions give various opportunities for home automation, elderly care, and home security. Many solutions however communicate to the user solely through a smartphone – if the user is at home and does not keep their smartphone close to themselves, they may miss important notifications.
For instance, coming home with the hands full of grocery shopping can make it arduous for the user to check on their phone if the security system has been properly disarmed. Similarly, elderly users of home care solutions may not be as technology-savvy and don’t have a smartphone that could notify them to take medication or similar.
With a solution that supports audio messages, you can make your customer’s life much easier and give your solution more functionalities.
Voice prompt communication with high flexibility
In addition to its siren functionality, the Smart Siren comes with a voice prompt that can include up to 256 different sounds for maximum flexibility in your solution. These sound files can consist of music, sounds, or speech in up to 8 different languages making sure that the siren fits the use in your solution.
Connected to a Squid.link gateway, the sound packages can be wirelessly and easily updated (OTA-updates), making it easy for you to add new sound files to an existing solution.
Make your home care solution more user-friendly
Voice-prompted communication has many uses in home care solutions. For seniors who are not regularly looking at a smartphone, you can use the Smart Siren to send audio reminders to take medication, drink water, or perform other actions at home.
In combination with a Smart or Panic Button, seniors living with relatives who care for them can easily activate a voice message saying that they need help in cases of an emergency. Similarly, the Smart Siren can give confirmation to seniors who have pressed a Panic Button that help is on its way.
Keep users up to date regarding the security in their homes
The voice-prompt functionality of the Smart Siren can enable a security solution to talk to the user. For instance, it can affirm actions such as arming or disarming the security system or, in combination with an Entry Sensor, let the user know if a window is still open when they want to activate the alarm system.
Moreover, the audio function of the siren can give detailed information on security breaches or emergencies. In addition to playing a loud alarm, the siren can give messages such as “intruder detected in the kitchen”, “intruder at the back door”, or “smoke detected in the basement”.
With the large space for sound files available for the voice prompt, there are no limits to the messages it can give.
