One step closer to a future with a stronger and greener internet infrastructure
With the internet traffic increasing rapidly, the results are huge amounts of energy being consumed and the risk of running out of space in the internet infrastructure. The goal of the research project INCOM has been to create new solutions for these issues. The project ended last month, and together with the other project partners, Develco Products participated in the INCOM Closure Meeting.
On 28th September, the INCOM Closure Meeting brought together the partners of the project in Hørsholm, Denmark. Prof. Leif Oxenløwe opened the meeting with a presentation on “the Great Green Start.” The meeting program also included presentations of the INCOM results and a successful poster session, raising inspiring discussions. By the end of the meeting, the Project Head, Niels Hersoug, concluded that INCOM had surely become a success thanks to the great involvement of the 14 partners.
The road to high capacity and low energy consumption
Throughout the INCOM project, the aim has been to take a step in the direction of making the internet infrastructure stronger and greener. The primary requirement for the new infrastructure has been to deliver higher capacity with significantly lower energy consumption. In addition, the infrastructure should provide a greater degree of reliability, minimal delays, and increased safety.
As a partner in the project, Develco Products has been involved in increasing safety and advancing IoT technology.
