The story of Develco Products
In 2007, Develco Products was founded as a spin-out of the Danish engineering and consulting company Develco. Since 1989, Develco has been specialised in developing wireless technologies. With the Internet of Things (IoT) arising and spreading around the turn of the millennium, a need occurred among IoT businesses for high-quality and white label hardware for their intelligent solutions.
Forming the foundation
To help businesses in the IoT industry make both energy management and homes smarter, a new company was formed. The company was named Develco Products, and the process of developing white label devices based on the Zigbee protocol began. Through years of thorough testing of the devices, the foundation of the wireless hardware platform, which we offer our customers today, was formed.
An evolving business
During the past 10 years, the product development process has accelerated and Develco Products has launched a wide variety of wireless devices. For several years, we have been among the top 10 companies with most ZigBee certificates, and our product portfolio keeps expanding. Today, we also reduce complexity and time to market of IoT solutions by offering our customers to combine our hardware platform with cloud platforms provided by our trusted cloud partners. In this way, our customers can have a ready-to-launch solution in just a few months.
Since Develco Products was founded, we have experienced exponential growth in sales. We supply some of Europe’s industry leaders in the areas of home automation, smart energy, home care, and home security, with our IoT hardware platform. Our business has evolved a lot during the past 10 years and, currently, we are on track to install 1.3 million units by the end of 2017.
