The Squid.link 2B is essentially a facelifted version of the 1st generation Squid.link Gateway. Squid.link 2B offers the benefits of being multiprotocol, thoroughly tested, and market-ready. It comes with updates to communication protocols and battery supply.
With the Squid.link 2B, you are able to focus on the software of your solution instead of spending time developing hardware.
Multiple communication protocols via one gateway
The new generation of Squid.link supports Zigbee 3.0 securing interoperability and functionality across vendors as well as an improved RF performance. In addition, the latest Z-Wave Plus chipset is included providing a better antenna as well as the option to include an external antenna.
The Squid.link 2B supports Bluetooth 5.0 Classic as well as Bluetooth Low energy 4.2, giving you more options when choosing the best communication protocols for your solution. With Bluetooth Classic, you have the option to connect more Bluetooth devices, as for example audio speakers, to the gateway.
Finally, the Squid.link 2B supports cellular networks: LTE is included as the standard network. With the Squid.link 2B, it is further possible to include a dual sim in the gateway enabling you to use cellular networks flexibly.
High level of security and certification options
To ensure a high level of security, you have the possibility to include hardware-accelerated encryption through three different hardware security chips. The hardware chip ensures data is private through AES-128 and ECC encryption. With AES-128 and ECC encryption, you can easily encrypt and decrypt data, while also making the encryption key invisible for software users. With hardware-accelerated encryption, you can also reduce loads on the CPU, improving the gateway's performance.
By including an Apple MFi chip, you have the opportunity to certify your solution with Apple, making it compatible with the Apple Home Kit. With this certification, more devices can be included in your solution, increasing flexibility even more than before.
High interoperability and customization
The Squid.link 2B offers extended functionalities with custom hardware options. Include up to two external antennas in your solution to increase range and a Micro SD card for more flash memory.
Thanks to its modular platform the Squid.link 2B can be customized according to your needs. This makes the gateway more cost-effective as you are only paying for the modules that you need for your solution.
The Squid.link 2B can also be customized regarding its outer appearance. Choose between multiple design options and add your brand and colors to ensure that it fits the visual identity of your business. You can also customize the packaging, installation manuals, and labels.
